just saw the barbie movie and the way ryan gosling acted in interviews is so funny to me now. he was out there like “ken loves barbie he serves her he would never ever betray her” then I watch the movie and he just fully has a villain arc. and like dgmw I loved his villain arc but damn
i want to thank the 1920s-1930s third wheel who saw their two friends lying in bed together in their underwear and stocking garters reading a book with their legs wrapped around each other and said “i am going to take a photograph of this”
i hope wherever they are now that everyone involved in the taking of this photograph knows how much joy it is bringing me 80-100 years later

My apartment building has coin-op laundry in the basement, and on the shelf where people store detergent there are also just enough quarters to start one load in the washer. This is the collective “oh shit I forgot my quarters” bank that anyone can borrow from to start laundry without having to climb all the way back up the goddamn stairs first. These quarters have been steadily used and replaced for multiple years now, and every time I see them I think about how upon such small foundations rests all of human society.
